Regulations

General behavior

Upon request from a staff member, a player has the obligation to identify themselves and comply immediately. The staff reserves the right to verify a player's equipment as well as anything else brought to the premises of Bastonville, at any time. Any violation of the Bastonville regulations will be immediately recorded in the player's file and will possibly restrict them from booking games in the future.

Under no circumstances should a player or visitor be under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs. This includes cannabis. Nor should they bring such substances to the premises of Bastonville. The penalty is for contravention is an immediate and permanent ban from Bastonville premises and activities.

For the benefit of everyone, no aggressive behavior will be tolerated. Any type of physical or verbal aggression, towards the staff or towards another player is unacceptable. Similarly, anyone who intentionally shoots at an uncovered part of a player's body when he could have shot at a protected part will be considered to be intentionally attempting to cause harm. Behavior that does not respect other players, aiming to hurt (for example overkill), injure (for example intentional headshot) or to destroy the equipment of another player or Bastonville will be penalized. If you think a player is behaving inappropriately or not respecting the rules of Bastonville immediately notify the staff, do not try to take matters into your own hands because you will also be penalized.

Any illegal behavior will be immediately reported to the relevant authorities.

Safety

Protective eyewear must be approved to at least ANSI Z87.1. CSA-approved construction goggles are suitable, as well as paintball goggles or specialized airsoft goggles. Glasses found on Wish, AliExpress, ski goggles, sunglasses or the like are NOT strong enough to offer adequate protection. Please note that mesh glasses are strictly prohibited. If you have any doubts, bring your glasses and ask someone from the staff.

In the preparation area as in the play area, it is imperative to keep your glasses or mask on at all times. If eye protection is removed even for an instant, the player will be banned for the day, and protesting this decision will lead to a permanent ban. If a player needs to temporarily remove their protection, they can do so in one of the bathrooms. There will be no exceptions. We take player safety very seriously, and anyone who does not behave in a safe manner by not respecting this simple basic rule puts themselves in danger as well as potentially worsening the already exorbitant cost of insurance will no longer be welcome at Bastonville.

Players suffering from epilepsy are regretably not allowed on the field since strobe lights present during games could trigger an epileptic seizure and endanger the individual as well as other people around.

Everyone is strongly advised to wear a helmet during the games. Our insurance, like most extreme sports insurance, does not cover traumatic brain injury and any consequences from concussion. You must therefore protect yourself to avoid any impact to the head, for example in the event of a fall. Wearing a helmet, just like protecting teeth or eyes at all times, is entirely the player's responsibility and Bastonville cannot be held liable.

It is strongly advised to wear shoes with spikes or with a soft rubber sole to avoid slipping on BBs on the ground. It is compulsory for children under 16 to wear a protective helmet, imitation military helmet type or bicycle / sports helmet, full coverage safety glasses and a mesh mask to protect the teeth. A “JT Flex 8 Full Cover” full-face paintball helmet that covers the entire head can also be used.

Access to the preparation area and games

The only individuals admitted to the playing area are those who have created an account on the website and who have signed the appropriate disclaimers. Visitors are tolerated in the preparation area if they do not disturb ongoing operations and if they wear safety glasses at all times. It is absolutely forbidden to enter the playing area without having an active reservation. Any abuse will be considered attempted fraud.

Anyone who discharges an airsoft replica outside of the playing area and the shooting range will be penalized, at minimum with an exclusion for the day. It is mandatory to put a barrel cover in the preparation area, as soon as you leave the playing area. If you cannot do it (pistol, muzzle too big, grenade launcher, etc.), the replica will not must not be able to fire when entering the preparation area or when you leaving the playing area (magazine removed, safety on, battery disconnected, grenades in closed pockets etc.).

BB Velocity

Airsoft BBvelocity should be voluntarily tested by all players. Unlike other fields, there is no test done by the staff with .20g BBs. You must test the velocity of your replica yourself with the same BBs that you will use during the game. For this, a shooting lane with a chronograph is available to you at all times and a table will allow you to easily check whether the velocity for a given weight of BB is acceptable. You therefore have the opportunity to adjust the velocity of your replica or the weight of the ball you use so as not to exceed the limits allowed with your type of replica.
Do not take this rule lightly, cheaters and people who do not respect the rules and who want to hurt intentionally by shooting too hard or too fast will be very severely sanctioned. Our limits are higher than most indoor fields because we don't want to force players to modify their stock replica to fire it at unreasonably low velocities. Anyone attempting to circumvent these rules will be permanently banned.

Firing in automatic mode is prohibited at all times unless otherwise specified in the game mode.

After entering the game with your replica, the staff can at any time verify the velocity or the number of BBs per second. In the event that this exceeds the permitted rules and depending on the extend to which the limits are exceeded, the staff will decide a penalty at their discretion. If you shoot too hard (fps/velocity) or too fast (BBs per second/rate of fire) with a certain replica, the minimum penalty will be to disallow use of said replica within Bastonville premises and games.

Examples:

- You shoot harder than the speed allowed with a sniper rifle = you will no longer be allowed to use sniper rifle

- You shoot harder than the allowed speed with an automatic rifle = you will no longer be allowed to use automatic rifles

- You shoot too hard with a pistol = you will no longer be allowed to use pistols

- You shoot too many balls per second with a rifle or an automatic pistol = you will no longer have the right to use replicas allowing full automatic fire

- You shoot too hard / too fast with a mechanical device such as double trigger or other custom device, you will no longer have the right to use replicas with any custom device, only stock replicas

Prohibited equipment

You may not bring knives or any other type of real weapon into the Bastonville premises. If you do so, a complaint will be filed with the police. Multitool type knives with a short blade are tolerated if you only use it for repair and store it immediately out of sight afterwards. In the game space, they are tolerated if you are playing MilSim and you are an engineer who needs them for his mission. If you take a multi-tool out during the game without good reason, you will be removed from the game and possibly banned.

No device emitting smoke or flames (smoke, grenades firecrackers, lighters, etc.) is permitted. In a closed area where gas blowback replicas are in use open flames are less than ideal.

The use of propane (barbecue bottle type) is not allowed. Use Green Gas instead. This is due to the odour, again you are in a closed place, respect others and do not use products that smell bad. If you do, you will no longer be allowed to use gas powered replicas or grenades in Bastonville.

"40 Mike" type grenades which fire a large number of balls per second are not accepted. Any device that fires BBs must respect the Bastonville regulations and enter within the permitted limits of velocities and number of BBs fired per second.

No grenades or other homemade devices are allowed without prior approval from the staff.

Lasers are tolerated if they do not exceed a power of 5 mW (milliwatt). At no time should they be pointed towards the head or the eyes. The use of any laser more powerful than 5 mW will be considered an attempt to injure and will be severely penalized.

No replica firing a BB diameter other than 6mm is authorized (4.5mm, 8mm, etc...).
The ball must be made of a biodegradable or plastic material, weighing between 0.12g and 0.45g. Any other weight or other type of material (glass beads, metal, etc.) is strictly prohibited.

“Mesh” or grid-type glasses do not in any way protect against an accident and are not accepted in Bastonville.

Thefts, losses and breakage of equipment

Bastonville is in no way responsible for theft, loss or breakage of equipment. It is your responsibility to leave your equipment in bags, suitcases or closed boxes, and to attach it securely to a table or other furniture present in the preparation area or to use one of the lockers provided. You will need to bring your own padlocks or locks.

Penalties

A refusal to follow the rules of Bastonville, whether intentional or not, or to ignore the directives of the staff present will be severely penalized. Penalties can range from exclusion from the current game to exclusion from Bastonville for a fixed period or even a permanent ban in the most serious cases or in cases of recidivism. The staff present at the time of the incident have the authority to decide on the severity of the penalty. Any refusal to comply or any aggressiveness towards the staff following a penalty will automatically result in a permanent ban. The player will no longer be allowed to reserve a place in Bastonville games and will therefore no longer be able to play.

Behavior during games

Anyone suspected of intentionally misbehaving in any manner (headshot, overkill, shooting too hard / too fast) or who shows aggression will be immediately and harshly penalized.

Any player that does not immediately identity themselves as "dead" according to the rules of the current game (does not "call his hits") will be considered by the staff as a cheater. Cheaters take away the fun of the game for all the players present. This is something that will not be tolerated in Bastonville. If you don't want to play by the rules established for everyone, you simply won't be able to play with us anymore. We will not accept that a minority of people ruin the enjoyment of the majority of players who play by respecting the rules and others.

You must not attempt to climb over obstacles and scenery, other than using stairs. If there are no stairs, it is not safe and you should not try to climb or hold on to them. If you do not respect this rule and behave in an unsafe manner, you contribute to increasing the cost of our insurance and you will no longer be welcome in Bastonville.

If you use replica knives or other edged weapons, it is strictly forbidden to strike with them at the risk of injuring someone. You must simply touch, or better put your hand on your opponent's shoulder while holding the weapon with the other hand to tell them that they are "dead" and that they must not make a noise, like for example shout "hit!".

Grenades thrown in the open have a "kill" radius of 10 feet. Grenades thrown in a room are effective for the whole room. Hiding behind furniture will not protect the player from being hit. You must report yourself "dead" whether or not you are hit by BBs.

Shields are allowed with a semi-automatic pistol type weapon only, and in game they do not protect against grenades or edged weapons.

Velocity limit

You must verify your replica with the BBs you intend to use on the field and verify on the chronograph provided that the velocity for a given weight and number of BBs per second (if applicable) is acceptable according to our regulations.

The limit described in these tables is a Joule limit (impact energy) that corresponds to the majority of unmodified replicas. Test your replicas to ensure these limits are not exceeded as the consequences can include permanent exclusion from Bastonville.
